 Estates Technician 

Location – Hindlip Hall, Worcester  

Permanent Contract  

Full Time

The closing date for this post is 12 noon on Tuesday 16th March 2021 

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and proactive Estates Technician to join the new Estates Team of the Office of Police & Crime Commissioner West Mercia Police. 

The main purpose of the role is to implement repairs and maintenance works for Hindlip Hall, to manage minor works, refurbishments, improvements, reactive, planned maintenance and Asbestos Management to uphold the condition of the property. Additionally the post holder will be required to carry out planned and unplanned maintenance and electrical installations / repair work and respond to emergency repair requirements and supervise contractors, provide access where required and manage quality of completed work. 

Experience within the property and construction sector is essential. Candidates must be able to demonstrate and provide evidence of; 

  • Excellent technical skills relating to the mechanical, electrical or building industry.
  • Current, recognized electrician qualifications covering industrial, commercial and domestic requirements.
  • A suitable qualification / accreditation and / or experience relating to relevant elements of the construction industry is desirable
  • Good communication, interpersonal skills and negotiation skills.
  • An ability to work as part of a team.
  • Be willing to work outside normal office hours, providing reactive maintenance cover as required
  • NEBOSH General Certificate is desirable
  • Proven ability to demonstrate understanding of Health & Safety legislation and requirements.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and manage time effectively and be able to work unsupervised.
  • Supervising of contractors
