Volunteer Cadet Programme Leader

We are recruiting for cadet leaders now, and we need you!

We are seeking new cadet leaders at each of our cadet unit locations across the force: Hindlip HQ, Bromsgrove, Shrewsbury, Malinsgate and Ledbury police stations.

Becoming a police cadet leader, is something you will remember for the rest of your life. You are helping to shape these young people’s lives, and the lives of the next generation of police officers.

You will meet with the cadets every Thursday evening for 2-3 hours during the school term. Here you will teach them about the law, police procedures, specialist roles, and high-tech crime. You will also take them to community and charity events across the force and help them get involved in team building activities and outward-bound courses within the programme.

These activities will be both fun and informative and are aimed at helping the cadets learn more about policing, and to help them grow and develop their communication, leadership and team working skills - skills that are vital for any police officer.

Attendance at the cadet evenings is mandatory and support at the community/charity events the cadets are participating in is expected.

Safeguarding training will be provided and candidates will be subject to vetting and DBS checks.

Experience of working in youth engagement roles is preferred, but not required, and a full driving licence is also required.
