To undertake the processing of all disclosure requests ensuring that any disclosure information is compliant with relevant legislation, policies and quality standards protecting people from harm and Warwickshire Police from reputational risk
Main Responsibilities:
To provide information to Decision Makers, in accordance with the Quality Assurance Framework (QAF), issued by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
To interrogate the Police National Computer and Force systems in order to verify identity and analyse convictional / non-convictional/ Local Intelligence data.
To ensure that the processes within the disclosure function are completed in an accurate and timely manner, in accordance with policies and procedures, utilising both computer based and manual systems where appropriate.
To monitor and evaluate on-going disclosure processes and to advise on decisions. To highlight any trends, advise and make recommendations on police disclosure procedures and Force Policy.
To liaise with internal and external business areas such as; Crown and Magistrates Courts; other Police Forces; CAFCASS; Local Authorities, Solicitors and Insurance Companies.
To assist in the training / mentoring of new staff.
To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.
Experience/Skills:
Knowledge:
5 A – C Grade GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English
An understanding and working knowledge of disclosure procedures and relevant legislation
Desirable:
A working knowledge of police disclosure procedures
Experience:
Experience of co-ordinating disclosure and related processes
Experience of working as part of a team
Experience of gathering and analysing evidence in order to make recommendations
Experience of working in a confidential environment demonstrating a high level of personal integrity when dealing with confidential matters
Desirable:
Previous experience co-ordinating disclosure and related processes within a policing environment
Key Skills:
Ability to work to tight deadlines and changing priorities
Ability to quickly absorb information and understand new disclosure policies and processes
Ability to collate and analyse data
Ability to communicate with a wide range of people both verbally and in writing
Ability to be flexible, using own initiative and working without direct supervision
Competent in the use of IT including Microsoft Office packages and readily able to attain a sound knowledge of other computer data systems
