The main purpose of the role is to assess, evaluate, process and disseminate electronic intelligence and email communications into Warwickshire Police Force Intelligence Bureau.
Main Responsibilities:
To risk assess, evaluate and research intelligence reports, incoming emails and requests, in line with threat, harm and risk according to priority. Prioritising in accordance with approved professional practice, threat, risk and harm (THRIVE).
To assess intelligence provided by other organisations, research and disseminate to relevant interested parties, ensuring the integrity of the intelligence is retained.
To ensure emails / requests sent to FIB are raised to the appropriate individual or department, add value through database research where possible and process in a timely manner. Where required, be robust in rejecting requests and provide grounds to support this decision with a rationale.
To disseminate intelligence reports as necessary to other agencies, adhering to handling codes specified and in accordance with handling guidance if any stated.
Research systems in order to answer relevant questions from partner agencies using locally recognised and approved pathways and legislation.
To prioritise, assess and action all enquiries received via the FIB email inbox, including out of force and prison intelligence as required.
Support auditing departments internally and externally with intelligence databases.
To work as part of a team to ensure tasks within FIB are prioritised and covered as required.
To provide support and guidance to police personal and external agencies on internal processes and procedures relating to FIB.
To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.
Experience/Skills:
Knowledge:
Educated to ‘GCSE’ level (or equivalent) specifically in Maths and English
Experience:
Experience of prioritising, analysing, researching and presenting data
Desirable:
Previous experience within a police intelligence environment with use of intelligence systems
Key Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent administration skills and an eye for detail
Ability to analyse, assimilate and assess information
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Competent use of IT, particularly using Windows based packages, advanced Excel and databases
