Learning Support Services Assistant

The likely start date for these positions will be July 2021.

The main purpose of the role is to undertake administrative tasks relating to the work of the Learning and Development department.

 

Main Responsibilities:

To liaise with the appropriate departments’ financial staff, regarding external course bookings and payments.

To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Learning & Development Department, producing a wide range of correspondence and course information.

To book delegates to courses, liaising with HR/Business staff, Duties staff and external customers (i.e. University).    

To update and maintain the training administration database with accurate and timely information, regarding course availability, delegate bookings and attendance.

To organise resources and ensure maximum attendance on courses, ensuring all necessary resources are provided and places filled.

To liaise with Business Support over delegate accommodation & travel arrangements to attend external events.

To deal with enquiries on behalf of all units within Learning and Development and communicate information to relevant parties.

To provide or organise maintenance of classrooms and equipment, daily and through ‘exception reporting’ from internal trainers and external users.

To identify & recommend process improvements to enhance service delivery and the learner experience.

To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.

Experience/Skills:

Knowledge:

Educated to GCSE level, including English language.

Experience:

Experience of office administration.

Experience in use of databases.

Ability to work towards stated standards & set priorities.

Key Skills:

Competent in use of IT, including Microsoft packages.

Aptitude to learn & use emerging technologies.

Communication skills, written & oral.

 

Special Conditions:

Occasional working unsocial hours including weekends.

Lone working - potential working from home, if necessary.
